Tie One On

If everyone was tying scarves around their necks in the warmest of weather would you? Even if you’d never done something so out of the ordinary (unless you’re a cowboy, in which case I guess this summer neck scarf thing is old news) before? Why yes, yes I would. I felt a little silly at first, I don’t pretend to be one of the cool kids after all, but then it kind of grew on me. Tied like a choker (like I did it here), or more loosely like my much cooler friend Monica Rose, the summer weight neck scarf is a thing. It just is. So why not give it a go. Everybody’s doing it.

Shouldering It

The shoulder has been having a moment lately. It’s been at the forefront of fashion several seasons running and the stage is set for it to shine this summer too. Off-the-shoulder dresses and tops have surged in popularity, and the less ubiquitous but super trendy cut out tops like this one have become fashion week, street style staples. Feeling the Heat

When the temperatures rise, the inseams of my pants shrink. I think there is a mathematical equation that could solve for this, but suffice it to say I like my shorts short. Blissfully, the last few days in LA have been hot enough for me to rouse my cutoffs from their winter hibernation. I’ve paired them here with a white lace illusion crop top from Aussie brand MINKPINK and a pair of wanna-be-Chloé, pseudo-cowboy, ankle boots. I live out West in the desert after all, so I figure it’s only right to pay homage. I’ve got summer in my sights and I am ready for the associated barely-there dressing. Skin out, spirits up.
