Merry Christmas everyone! It’s time to kick up those heels, wear just about anything red without hesitation and generally make merry. I hope you are closing out 2016 with at least a few fond memories and with high hopes for the year ahead. Thank you for spending time with me these last twelve months; you are the heartbeat of this here blog and I couldn’t be more grateful to each and every one of you. More to love… Zara Short Frilled Jumpsuit

As the holiday season gets underway, and as phase one of our home renovation project draws to a close, I am feeling in the spirit and filled with gratitude and wonder. I’ve decided the whole exercise of transforming one’s home can be made into a metaphor for life; decide to make a change and then leap boldly toward a hoped-for future. Sure living with construction is a bit unsettling, but what’s much worse is stagnating in a life, and a living space, that no longer serves you. Another side effect of a life in transition is a necessary paring down. Only the essentials and the most treasured items make the cut. What to wear for such uplifting upheavals? Maybe not-so-basic-black. Here I’m wearing a comfortable (and forgiving) dress with a lovely feather detail that’s a ready reminder to keep things light. True to form, I’ll let fashion be my guide on this one.
